Review: Eos sweetmint

Hope you guys had a great Christmas! and if you don't celebrate Christmas, then happy holidays!
heres a quick eos sweet mint review. it was pretty great, i really liked it! <3 xo, liz!
PROS: AMAZING SWEET SMELL
tastes sweet if you lick your lips after.
cute blue color on the ball
lasts long on your lips
the whole package lasts long (around 3 months)
only $2.99 at my local target
organic and natural
gluten free
paraben free
(free of a lot of chemicals)
WORKS AND HYDRATES!

Cons: the ball looks weird in your jeans pockets

IF YOU OBSESS OVER THIS FLAVOR AND APPLY IT LIKE 20 TIMES A DAY, YOUR LIPS WILL DRY OUT. (trust me it happened :D haha i obsessed over it)

I do recommend this product, because if you apply it around 3 times a day, it works well and it smells nice.

FINISHED PRODUCT!

I drew on mine! hehe :P

Save or Splurge?

Heres a quick guide on what to save on and what to splurge on. Enjoy! :D Happy Holidays! Merry Chirstmas, and Have fun with family and friends! XOXO <3 Liz

Makeup Brushes: Splurge. Makeup brushes that arent good quality can absorb a lot of makeup in its bristles and potentially waste your makeup.

Hair Brushes: Save. they dont pull out your hair. as long as its bristles dont hurt your head its all good!

Eyeliner: Save. you dont need $20 eyeliner. drugstore brands are just fine.

Eyeshadow: Save. the shadow will stay on your eyes if you use a good eyeshadow primer.

Primers: Splurge. they keep the makeup on your face!!! you dont want makeup running down your face halfway through the day!

Nail Polish: Save. you can find brands without the harmful chemicals in some nail polishes at the drugstore. YOU DON'T NEED EVERY BOTTLE OF NAIL POLISH YOU OWN TO BE HIGH END! i use many drugstore nail polishes and i'm still a beauty guru. you dont need expensive polish to look fancy, people wont know what brand of polish you use by the color.

Foundation: Save. Foundation can break out some people so make sure the foundation you are using is good for you. other than that, its all good, you can save around $10 comparing drugstore makeup to high end places! Same thing about the eyeshadow, its the primer that counts!

Blush/Bronzer: Save. its all good if you save, again its all about the PRIMER!!!

Review: Carmex lipbalm original tube formula

WOW I've been using a lot of lip balms! glad i can solve my lip balm problem.
Carmex is a great lip balm and i got it somewhere in October. (in my October favorites)

Pros: glossy looking lips! looks almost like a clear gloss.
HYDRATES! (uhm, yeah, quite a bit)
cute lip gloss looking tube
doesn't feel that sticky on lips
no tint
nice easy to use circle applicator.
spf 15

Cons: Smells okay, kinda bad.
your hair does stick to it a little if your hair touches it.

I do recommend it, and i will buy more once i finish all the lip balms i want to use.

How to pick the correct shampoo for you!

Okay, so for this post, i will give the steps first, then talk about how to find out what hair type you are. AND THEN i will say HOW to actually go to a store and find a shampoo and conditioner.

  1. Find out if your hair is dry or oily.
  2. if you have dyed hair, you have to use a colored shampoo.
  3. Find out if you have dandruff
  4. find out if you have frizzy hair
  5. find out if you have hair volume problems
HOW TO FIND OUT IF...

you hair is oily- you hair will get greasy easily, like the day after you wash your hair.

Your hair is dry- your hair doesn't get greasy until a week or so without washing, it is dry and crisp when you touch it.

you have dandruff- you have white stuff at your scalp? it isn't lice? its dandruff

you have frizzy hair- you hair puffs up or gets a little curly if released to water or humidity.

you have volume problems- your hair is flat and limp when your hair is dry.

If you have...

oily hair- find a strong shampoo and let it sit in you hair for a while before washing out (see more in post how to wash your hair)

dry hair- find a hydrating shampoo

Dandruff- find a dandruff shampoo. head and shoulders has one and selsum blue is a brand for dandruff

fizzy hair- use frizz control spray after you use a hydrating shampoo

volume problems- find a voluming shampoo

The Usual Rules By: Joyce Manyard REVIEW!

this book was about a 13 year old girl who's living a normal teenage life. she lives in new york and her mom worked at the world trade center as a Secretary. on September 11th, her mom goes missing (9/11 bombings) this book is sad and you really learn to appreciate your parents and your LIFE. the girl moves to California to her dads house, and learns to love her mom more then she every has. she develops into a nice young girl, and makes friends in California.

In this book you will learn to love life.

i liked this book because i really learned to appreciate what i have and to love life and my family. (and there was a little romance)

there are adventures in this book that will make you read it in a few sittings!

(sorry this review was short. i didn't want to spoil anything)

How to wash your hair the correct way.

Hi Guys So I'm going to tell you how to wash your hair the correct way. I'll be giving two different direction. one for oily hair and one for dry hair.

I'll do another post on how to pick a shampoo that is best for your hair soon.

And BTW people: I've been reading a lot of blogs now, and I've really been liking it when the author puts a picture in, do i will be adding more pics to this blog coming up!

OILY HAIR

  1. Wet you hair all the way through, MAKE SURE ITS SOAKING
  2. Put around 3 quarter-size of shampoo on your hand. rub this into your scalp.
  3. when you massage the shampoo on you scalp, don't rub with your finger tips, SCRATCH with your nails. this gets all the oil and dirt out of your hair.
  4. don't scrub your tails until you feel like your scalp is clean
  5. when you feel like you did enough scrubbing, let the shampoo sit in your hair for a few minutes. this really gets rid of dirt and oil.
  6. "scrub" the tails of your hair (basically rub it like your rubbing lotion into your hands)
  7. wash out the shampoo
  8. get a small quarter size amount of conditioner, don't get too much, because conditioner is basically oil for our hail to hydrate. so if you have oily hair then don't use too much conditioner
  9. apply conditioner to only the TAILS of your hair.
  10. let it sit for a minute or so, then wash out well.
  11. repeat the shampoo and conditioning process if you want your hair to be nice and clean!
  12. Enjoy! You now know how to properly wash your hair from all oil and dirt, but still leave your hair healthy.

DRY HAIR

  1. first wet you hair until its soaking
  2. then get around 2 quarter size amount of shampoo in your hand
  3. rub it into your scalp with your FINGERTIPS (not nails)
  4. wash out thoroughly
  5. get around 2 to 3 quarter size amounts of conditioner and put on the tails and medium length of your hair
  6. let it sit for about 5 minutes. (wash you face and body during the time if you don't want to waste time and water)
  7. rinse out. repeat the process again if you want to.
  8. Congrats! you now know how to wash you hair the correct way if you have dry hair!

salon mani pedi

okay so here's how to so a salon worthy manicure. but at home!!

sorry this was short. I've been very busy lately, but ill hope to start to post longer posts in the holidays, since thanksgiving and Christmas break is  gonna happen.
  1. use nail polish remover (i hate this step, so i skip it.)
  2. soak you hands in warm water (or wash them, whatever you like)
  3. apply a lotion to your hands (honestly, i feel like this does nothing, because oil on your nails makes the nail polish chip easier. but that's what they do at salons to make you feel pampered)
  4. clean off your fingernails (to get rid of the oil from the lotion)
  5. push your cuticles back
  6. paint them!
  7. wait until all dry. OR ELSE!! HA HA! HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS!

HOT CHOCOLATE

AH I LOVE THE WINTER SEASON! here's a Delicious, easy hot chocolate recipe.

You will need: a stove, milk (or water) chocolate (or a hot coco packet), a pot, and a cup.  OPTIONAL: Caramel, salt, whipped cream, and marshmallows

  1. boil the milk or water on the stove. if you are using milk, keep stirring so it doesn't burn.
  2. when the liquid is hot and boiled, and the chocolate or hot coco powder.
  3. stir it up until the chocolate melts or until the powder is gone
  4. pour it in a cup and let it cool a little bit. don't burn your tongue!
OPTIONAL: put whipped cream on top and drizzle some caramel. put a small bit of salt (trust me, it works, Starbucks does it, so I'm not crazy) and if you want extra sweetness, and marshmallows!

YOU CAN ALSO MICROWAVE THE LIQUIDS INSTEAD OF BOILING IN STEPS 1&2. THIS SAVES AROUND 5 MINUTES!

Thanks for reading guys! the next post will be how to do a salon mani pedi!

Last min at home halloween ideas!

SO i know Halloween is in like 6 days so here are some last min costume and makeup ideas!

Artist: An easy, lay back look.
Costume: get a plain white tee shirt, some jeans, and some paint, go outside or to a place you don't mind getting paint on. splatter paint on the plain white tee. you can accessorise with earrings and a belt, but that was a quick costume.
Makeup: your normal foundation routine and not to dramatic mascara. Do some bright blush, and don't use bronzer. use a neutral eyeshadow.

Dorthy: A cuter costume, you will need to purchase some parts for this costume.
Costume: A nice fitting white tee shirt, a blue and white kitchen apron, black tights, and a white poofy skirt.
wear the white tee and skirt under the apron. optional: a toy dog and basket.
Makeup: Normal foundation and bronzer. do a light pink blush, dramatic eyelashes, and a bronze eyeshadow combo, darker in the crease.

Sorry there were only two, i didn't really have time to think things up, but these will work if you want cute, simple costumes.

Nail Hydration tutorial!

so if your like me and love to do your nails a ton! then you are probably looking for a hydration technique. well here it is!

You will need: a small bottle, scented lotion, a full stick of lip balm (and yes, I'm using my project pan one), a plate that you do not eat off, a microwave, and a spoon you no longer use

the finished product is on the bottom of the image collage.

Steps:
1. get the lip balm and remove it from the stick, put it on the plate and microwave it for 30 seconds, or until the lip balm melts into a liquid.
2. fill the little bottle with lotion, and pour in the lip balm.
3. Quickly stir up the whole mixture so the lip balm doesn't cool in a big clump.
4. Freeze the mixture for 2 hours, or until frozen. Defrost before use.

Stay healthy in school!

No matter whether tomorrow you have a HUGE test, or if its a Friday. You want to stay healthy when you are in school. From 7th grade up, if you miss a day, you can really miss a lot of stuff (based on my experience) so here are some tips on how to stay healthy when you are in school.
  1. carry hand sanitiser
  2. wash your hands before eating (honestly, you put your hands in you mouth. keep clean!)
  3. don't bite nails, lick hands or anything of the sort
  4. if you feel like you are sick the night before or that morning, take some medicine, it will help you feel better
  5. lastly, don't put too much pressure on your self. be calm!

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Peppermint

Okay well as you guys know from my Lip Balm Delima post, i had a lot of lip balms to choose from to wear, and i chose BABY LIPS!

I'm just going to do a pros and cons because I'm rushing right now. sorry!

Pros: leaves your lips glossy looking, in tube form, SPF 20, has a little mintyness, kinda hydrates

cons: doesn't hydrate a lot, can tastes SPF a little, and not pepper minty as expected.

overall i liked it, but i wouldn't buy it again, ill be trying softlips or carmex next.

Healthy and tasty snack for school!

Here's another recipe. its easier then the other one! and really tasty and good for you!

You will need:
Ritz crackers (or any cracker your prefer)
peanut butter (nutella, or almond/sunflower butter works too)
any kind of fruit! (strawberries, kiwi, banana, or apples are great examples!)

First, you spread some peanut butter on the cracker. Then you want to slice up your fruit into slices a little smaller then your cracker. then just place your fruit on the peanut butter and you have a classy looking, healthy, yummy snack!

The finished product is below, but now I'm going to talk about why i like this snack so much. Well. you get you sweetness from the fruit and a little from the peanut butter. the peanut butter gives you a rich creamy feel, and the cracker pulls it all together with a little bit of salt (if you used Ritz)

Save time when your getting ready for school

So usually I'm tired in the morning when I'm getting ready for school. but whenever i follow these steps, i save at least 10 minutes!

  1. i prepare what I'm going to wear, that night (i know many people say this, but it works)
  2. if I'm going to take a shower i prepare all my soaps and all the other stuff the night before
  3. take a quick shower. it will wake you up in the mornings
  4. go to bed early! honestly, don't sleep late, you'll just be rushing the next morning

I'll be doing the first one, using 10 beauty products i have. I'm going to list those beauty products!
  1. my eos honeysuckle lip balm
  2. my baby lips peppermint lip balm
  3. my herbal essences (purple flavor) shampoo
  4. my bath and body works black raspberry vanilla lotion
  5. my current face wash (clean and clear)
  6. my current shampoo (head and shoulders 2in1 dandruff control for swimming)

  8. my bath and body works sweet pea OR cherry blossom lotion (depends on which one i want to keep)

Make your own lunch for school.

so if you don't want to eat school lunch, you can definitely make a quick and tasty lunch for you lunchbox. on today's menu we will be making a quick and easy cheese quesadillas.

this recipe takes 10 minutes to make!

you will need:

2 tortillas
1/2 a cup of grates cheese (whatever you like, but cheddar is classic!)
a drizzle of olive oil (or butter/ cooking oil)
a pan
a stove
a spatula

optional: guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and lime.

first you want to heat your stove to medium heat and drizzle a little bit of Olive oil (or canola, butter, or any cooking oil you have!) on it. when the oil is hot (put your hand above the pan to see if hot) put down your first tortilla. you and to immediately put all your cheese on the tortilla and put the 2nd tortilla on top of the cheese. in a few minutes, use your spatula to flip over the tortilla, so the other side can brown as well. when done the cheese should be melted and the tortillas a caramel brown.

optional steps: you may put some guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and/or lime in your lunch for extra flavor.

enjoy your easy yet tasty lunch! thanks for reading!

Dry your nail polish faster with water?

If your impatient and want your nail polish to dry faster, before you paint your nails, put cold water in a cup and place the cup in the fridge, when you polish is on your nails, put your nails in the water for 2 minute and you nails will be hard and dry. make sure to do this to every coat if you are doing multiple coats because you don't want to paint the next coat while the under one is still drying. enjoy this tip! Thanks for reading guys!

My best lip balms.

So basically I've tried a lot of lip balms and i only have 3 that i will actually buy again. I've tried blistex, nivea kiss of moisture, eos, burts bees, neutrogena, chapstick, lip smacker (haha, fail), and probably others that I've forgotten about because they were being stupid.

Blistex- My 2nd favorite! I used the green flavor (mint) and it really worked! It was cheap too, $1-$2

Nivea (a kiss of moisture)- well this really hydrated a lot, but i got the plain flavor and it was soo GROSS i threw away the lip balm!

Eos- well i made a review on this but, its my 3rd favorite, i might buy the mint, cuz i didn't like the honeysuckle honeydew.

Burts bees- FIRST! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! the mint smells great, a little waxy, but it really made my lips soft!

neutrogena- The free sample that came with the sunscreen. it smelt weird, and didn't hydrate

chapstick- cherry smells horrible, but hydrated a little, if i bought mint i might have liked it

lip smacker- has cool flavors, but doesn't do anything to your lips.

stuffed animals are a great accessory!

So recently I've been redecorating my room. kinda. and i just took out like 10 stuffed animals to make the room more filled up.

Small plushy can be put anywhere and make a cute accessory.
large plushy can me put on top of your bed, and make it look like you actually use the bed.

Art can be a great decoration

If its your own art, or something you purchased, art can be a really sophisticated decorations. Make sure that the art goes with your room and your room theme.

Candles-spice up any room!

No matter whether or not you want to light them or not, candles are great for the odor and decoration of ANY room.
you can use candles for a color scheme, or making your room smell nice. Candles spice up and make your room more elegant.
Since candles never go out of style, you can buys lots and pair them with your bedspread, or the seasons of the year! They are also really great gifts!

Cute shoes that arent comfertable?

Okay, imagine you just got the CUTEST SHOES but they are too small, or the sole isn't comfortable. Here are 2 great tips that will allow you to make that shoe last!

1. if the shoe is too small, get a zip lock bag, put it in the sole of the shoe, and fill the bag with water. put the shoe in the freezer and let it sit there until the water becomes ice. The shoe will stretch around 1/2 to 1 size bigger! You CAN get those cute shoes that are too small for you!

2. If the sole of your shoe isn't comfortable, or makes your heels ache, then go to your cvs, target, Walgreen's, or any place that sells shoe SOLE support! the shoes that have little or NO arch support are probably gonna mess with your back and foot! the soles are around $20 BUT can support you with any shoe!

How to give inexpensive presents to people.

Well, since it's going to be my birthday in a month, I'm going to teach you guys how to give inexpensive gifts to people, THAT THEY WILL APPRECIATE. Target is a really in expensive place to give gifts, and you can find some really cool accessories, clothes, decor, and other stuff that cost less then ten bucks!

Also, some stores like H&M, Old Navy, Target, Bath and Body Works, and many others have GREAT sales that will get your friend an amazing gift for very little money. It's great to know that you can get your friends gifts that they will LOVE without spending lots of $$$!

How to organise your closet

okay, well my closet is basically 4 drawers and 1 hanger rack. 1 drawer is socks, swim suits, under ware and that stuff. another drawer is clothes i wear, tops and bottoms. then next drawer is clothes i wear on weekends or lounge days. the last drawer is scarves and gloves. the hanger rack is basically coats, jackets, cardigans, and vests. how i organise my drawers is i pour out all the stuff and separate the sweaters, jeans, tank tops, socks and everything. then i just put them back in the drawers.

the hangers are the same, just put them back on the rack. Thanks for reading guys! email me requests at lizbaxter.public@gmail.com

Mouthwash- is it nessassary?

Okay, well with this post i know I'm going to be sounding like a Listerine commercial, but YES, mouthwash is very good for your mouth's health. I'm going to be telling you why right now!!!

okay well there are germs and bacteria all over your mouth, and when you brush your teeth and floss (and maybe brush your tongue) there are still germs on the roof of your mouth, the inside of your cheeks and around your gums. if you rinse with mouthwash for 15 seconds, some of those germs will go away, and you will have a clean mouth, AND have good breath!!!

Thanks for reading guys!! bye!

Review: LG neon phone

Okay well this phone is like 3 years old, but if your going to get it, then here's a review!!!

Lots of people say that the phone dies in like 6 months, but mine lasted around 2 years. it just died a couple weeks ago, so I'm getting a new phone soon.

Pros: Has camera
     slide out qwerty keyboard
touch screen only for dialing a phone #
has calendar, alarm clock, calculator, and more
     has speed dial
(more features, you can just google it, cuz this is a review)

Cons: Kinda hard to type sometimes
camera has no zoom when your taking the picture
bulky (compared to all the new phones coming out now)

how my phone died: well it just started to freeze and the buttons wouldn't work. so i refreshed it my taking the battery out and in. it still freezes.

Review: Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Acne Wash

Okay guys, I have acne, and it is visible, so i tried the famous pink grapefruit neutrogena acne wash.
This wash works on a lot of different people, but it didn't work on my skin type.

My skin type is a combination of oily and dry. My forehead, temples, nose, and sometimes chin are oily. my cheeks and mouth area are dry. My forehead is the part with the acne, and sometimes my nose will have blackheads and clogged pores.

I saw this face wash on TV and i was like, eh whatever, ill give it a try.

Pros: Smells GREAT
got rid of some pimples on my forehead (so its good for oily skin)
     its oil free
it has Salicylic acid for acne treatment
the bottle lasted me around 2 months

Cons: After you wash your face, you don't feel that nice clean feeling every time
dried out my cheek and mouth area
the pump on the bottle isn't very easy to lock/unlock
if u press on the bottle some soap comes out the spring of the pump
dried out cheeks and mouth so bad, it started to flake.

Review: eos lip balm, honeysuckle honeydew

It's been about 2 months since I've tried the EOS (evolution of smooth) lip balm, honeysuckle honeydew. This it the green colored ball of lip balm.
here is the opened lip balm
Cons: ball shape is unique, but is very inconvenient if you carry your lip balm in your pocket.
It hydrated my lips at first, but now my lips are chapped again.
I wasn't fond of its sweet smell.
It left a waxy feel on my lips.
It's around $3.50, which is kind of pricey for this quality lip balm

Pros: very hydrating the first 2 weeks.
Ball shaped lip balm made it easy to glide on your lips
Flat bottom so it wouldn't roll around

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because it didn't hydrate as much as it said it would.
