WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2013~

Hey guys! So I'm just too excited because this is my what I got for xmas post! :) yaaaaay! So yes- heres what I got for christmas.

Edit 3/4/14: If some of you notice that some pictures are missing from the original post, thats because they are. I deleted the pictures of items I returned after christmas, and I'm getting to it now because I was looking at this post and saw that I didn't have some of these gifts anymore. I don't want to show you guys items i didn't end up keeping, because they aren't really actual gifts.

A warm, brown smokey eye.

Hey guys, here is a wonderful warm brown smoky eye for the holidays or anything! enjoy, lizzy.

prime lids and use a light gold/brown color as a base. add a darker tan color to the outer half, for a smoky affect.

add darer brown to the outer corner, in the shape shown in the picture above. Line eyes.

Apply mascara and false lashes of you want.

Routines: RETAINER

This post will be about... dun dun dunnnnnn RETAINER CARE! So just how often i clean and how i clean, and ya!

So i brush my retainer every morning and night. 

I soak it in water about 2 times a day. When I'm eating breakfast, and when I'm flossing and brushing at night.

As for deep cleaning- Retainer brite is what I use. It deep cleans. You can use denture tablets too- I heard they work they same on retainers.

Nov 2013 FAVS

Happy thanksgiving everyone! :)
Hope yall are eating alot of food and spending time with family! Hope you had a good black friday too!
The holidays are great, and just to change things up a bit, this fave post is gonna be a picture faves!

THIS LOOK = LIFE

That eye look on Katniss was simply STUNNING. 

Jennifer Lawrence really is a beautiful woman, and she really knows how to play the part of Katniss. 

They couldn't have picked a better actress. 

I do recommend that all of you see Catching Fire, even if you aren't Hunger Games fans. 

It truly is amazing and I started out as a not-so-big-fan myself, but honestly this movie changed it. 

My only fave was really everything Hunger Games, even though it just came out.

What I did when I had BRACCES! + My experiences/advice

So when I had braces, i had normal brackets and one metal molar band on the left lower tooth. (i'll explain later) I really did floss everynight (ugh ikr) and it did pay off. I wore my rubberbands pretty well, and all those things combined was the reason why i got to have my braces off half a year early.

When I first got my braces, that first night my molar left last bracket came off. That was because of my bite. My ortho saw the next appt, and but a molar band on that tooth. So thats the story for that. That was the only bracket that fell off.

I still ate candy, chewed gum, ate chips and popcorn and ALL that bad stuff. Just be careful when you eat these things, and make sure to brush well and floss afterwards!

When you first get braces and the wire in, IT HURTS SOOOOO BAD. It'll calm down after 3 days, but for the next week it'll hurt mildly still. You'll get sores in your mouth, so use the wax your ortho will probably give you.

Brush well, you dont want white spots where your brackets were when you had braces.

Review: Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Loose Powder Foundation

So, as promised in my oct 2013 faves post, I'm starting my foundation reviews! So this one is the un-fav and its the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers loose powder "foundation"

One of the main reasons I really disliked this powder is it had little to no coverage and it makes you look SO cakey. I personally got it in 40 nude, and it matched my skin tone through the packaging and in large amounts, but on the face, it has very little coverage.

Unfortunately, I didn't think of reviewing it until my oct faves, and by that time I already returned the product back to the store, so I dont have pictures or swatches.  (My target does take returns for used makeup, as long as you only used it a little)

It comes with a brush, which i did like. The brush was very soft and nice, I really liked it. But, the powder/foundation was simply just bad. I tried putting it over a foundation, and It did stay matte, but overall i simply don't like loose powders to begin with, so that could've been my problem with it.

It was about $13 in my local target, and I think IT IS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL.
I like my rimmel stay matte pressed powder WAY MORE and its only like $5. (I'll so do a review on that too)

Basically, if you're not a loose powder fan, or if you're looking for coverage with this, don't get it.
If you like loose powder and a little wee bit of extra coverage OVER foundation, go ahead.

Beautiful black smoky eye

Here is a wonderful look you can wear to a holiday party, or just any event! I think this look is So so SO elegant, and it just makes you look stunning!

Prime eyes, and use a shimmery champagne color as a base all over the lid. On the outer half, but a grey/darker color to start the smoky affect.

Add black to the very outer corner, and blend halfway into the lid, but make sure the grey is still a little visible at the halfway area. 

Line eyes so it's a little wing, to add a little bit of innocence. Add mascara. False lashes are optional, (i didnt wear them) but you can to make your lashes pop!

EYELINER LOOK #1

Okay, so the reason why the title says #1, is because theres gonna be a look #2 also, so ya! Oh, and comment below when your school is starting! I can do back to school stuff too if you want (comment if you want it or not) Anyways, here it isss! Liz

So what you want to do is only use eyeliner for this look. (pencil to outline the area, then liquid to fill in) outline the "shape" like what i did here, style it yourself! if you want more of a straight look, dont make it so curved on the lid. Fill it in! And there is a quick look!

Chit-Chatting with me! Fall Feelings edition!

Hey guys! So its been fall for a while, but my shedules has been so packed i'm just getting around to doing another talk-with-liz post now! sorry guys :( Anyway, todays topic- FALL.

Guys nobody can tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE FALL. I know every beauty guru is always like "OMG! Im so over summer its time for fall everyone! CANDLES, HOT CHOCOLATE, STARBUCKS! <3"
But really, i love the fall and winter seasons SO MUCH MORE than summer and spring.
I dont know what it is, but the fall just really gets me.
Maybe its christmas, or all the holidays coming together, or winter break, but i just love fall and winter!
The fall also makes me more into beauty and fashion in a way. I do my nails more in the fall. I LOVE sweaters and fall fashion.
I dont know why i do my nails more, I think its because I like darker colors more, and I own more darker polishes. I do know why i like sweaters and warm things though-
I've never been into wearing bra-letts and croptops, I've always been self conscious and a bit uncomfortable showing a lot of skin. I don't mind wearing shorts when its 80+ deg. out, but not on the reg.
This isnt because I have weight issues or anything, I just dont really feel right without being covered or more prone to having a wardrobe malfunction.
i don't know guys, i just love fall and winter.

A purple halloween eye!

Hey guys, purple is a halloween color, right? so i did a "spooky" halloween eye using purple! This look is great for someone who wants to do something for halloween, but you dont wanna dress up. OR you could use this as makeup for your costume! enjoy, love, liz.

Prime lids for your makeup lasting all day and night, and apply a darker purple color alll over your lids

get a darker purple and but that a the midpoint of the mid lid and outer lid. blend. add some black to the very outer lid areas and blend. line eyes.

Orange sunset, yet "creepy" halloween look!

Hey guys, so i'm doing this halloween look, and it'll be like a sunset look, but I'll but a "creepier" twist on it. you can stop at the pretty sunset part, or go on with the creep part. enjoy! Liz.

prime lids and apply a yellow/gold color all over lids. Add an orange to outer half, blend for a smokey sunset affect. 

Line eyes as shown, and use eyeliner to draw on ur lid. draw vertical lines on your lid, along the lashline. like lashes, but not lashes.

Apply a purple (halloweeny) color under the waterline area, and line waterline too. Apply mascara and enjoy!

SEPTEMBER FAVES 2013!

Heyyyy guyyys! so its october... basically in sept, school started (well in late august...) and other things happened. ITS FALL NOW OMG IM SO EXCITED. Fall and winter are my FAVE seasons of the year. no joke. anyways, here are my 2 sept faves! <3 liz

covergirl lashblast length- great for a "no makeup look" gives you a bit of volume and enough length to be noticeable but still natural

The ellen show- i love watching the clips she posts on youtube of her show. i watch them after school everyday for a quick stress relief, then i do homework.

Braces: Rubber Bands and Power Chains.

When I had braces, I had to do three types of rubber bands. I dont know how to describe them, but I'll talk ABOUT rubber bands and power-chains.

Rubber Bands are literally small rubber bands to fix your braces bite. You can put them in different positions to change your bite. THere are also different types of rubber bands. WHen you wear them, they do feel weird at first. They feel like really pressured, and sometimes its hard to open your mouth when they are in. It is weird. You take them out when you eat, and brush, and you replace them after you do so.

POWER CHAINS! Are the type of colored elastic ligature that are connect to one another, to close gaps in your teeth. Power chains do hurt, because they are closing gaps in your teeth... It'll hurt where there are gaps in your teeth, for a few days or more, depending on how big the gap is. I only had smaller gaps, so it didn't hurt that much. They bring your teeth closer together.

Summer Night Routine!

The last post was summer day routine, and this will be summer night routine! -lizzy

So at around 6 or 7 I eat dinner, then I go upstairs and get online again. I'm on my laptop until like 9, then I get in the shower and shower it up. I then dry off, get into my pjs and do my oral routine. I get back ON the computer until like 10pm, then I shut it down and watch TV until like 11 or 11:30. Then I goooo toooo sleeepp. :)

Summer Morning Routine!

Since I haven't done this post yet, and its school time (i missed the chance to do this post in the summer), I'm gonna do the summer morning routine! xoxo, LIZ

I wake up at around 9, and I get on my laptop. I'm on it until like 11, then I get ready and wash my face and stuff.
I usually just wear lounge clothes around the house, so I put some sweatpants and a loose tee on, and eat some food downstairs.

Wearing a simple dress like this can look REALLY pro, and if you accessorize well, this would look GREAT anytime year round. With long black boots in the fall, or wedges in the spring, this look will look great for school or work or any event! You'll be really comfy and stylish!

Back to school/bday/summer HAUL

Hey GUYSSSSSS so this is a summer, back to school, and birthday haul! My birthday isnt here yet, but the things I got now are from people I wont see for a while, soooo ya! here it is! Lizzy

OH I also got a shirt that is mint colored and had lace sleeves, but I JUST wore it a few sundays ago, and I HAVE to make another post about it... It is honestly one of the WORST pieces of clothing i have. 

Back to school makeup!

There will be a eye makeup tutorial on a different look for school, so look forward to that! This blog will just be type on what is "school appropriate" and comfortable for school! 

*These are just tips for people who want to wear makeup or don't know how much to wear to school. If you know what you wanna do, go ahead! this is just what I would do!*

Okay so unless you REALLLLY want FULL coverage, you can use a foundation, but i think you should really just stick to BB creams and tinted moisturizers. If you want more coverage than that, use concealer. 

Go light on the blush and bronzer, but you CAN wear it!

For eye makeup, maybe a little winged eyeliner and mascara is enough, if you want more, then put on a little more! Oh, and you might want to use waterproof, so you won't have to worry about smudging and all that bad stuff.  

As for eyeshadow-Stick with natural colors, browns, tans. Maybe a light smoky eye would work!

Braces Removal!

Okay so for braces removal, they will clip off your braces with the wire and the elastic ligatures, using plier thingys. THEN YOU ARE BRACE FACE NO MORE. 

After that, they will use a thing like a tooth sander thingy and sand your tooth so the glue won't be on your teeth anymore. Then, they take X-rays and molds for your retainer! Thats really it! 

THE PAIN: The pliers and clipping hurter a little, but its bearable. 

THE SMOOTHING SAW THING. OMG if u have sensitive teeth, it will HURT LIKE A BEECH. I sat through it, but it did hurt a bit. Not really hurt, just a ton of STRONG sensitive feelings.

Getting braces on

Getting braces on. Prepare for the next ___ years of your life with metal on your teeth. :( its ok, its for a good cause. YO TEETH GONNA LOOK HOT LIKE ALL THE CELEBS.

lets get started.

First, they take xrays, pics, and molds (GAG literally) of your teeth BEFOOOO braces. Then, they stretch your mouth wide open and start glueing brackets to your teeth. Really thats it.
They put in a wire, and you pick what color you want your braces to be that sesh. YUP. you can pick different colors every time you visit.

So i'll be making a few posts on braces. Getting them on, off, my experiences, and the basics. Oh and retainer wear. This post will just be about braces in general.

No one has perfect teeth before braces. Thats the point. People usually get braces for 2 years, and then a retainer.
Everyone who has had braces need a retainer.
When you get them on, ur teeth will hurt like a little b*tch for like a week. (for some, longer or shorter) it'll hurt mildly every adjustment.
I don't know what to say on this post. most of the info will be on the separate posts. So obviously for the next 4 posts, itll be about braces. You're welcome. kk bye

Blog Talk with LIZ! Are YOU Wearing Makeup?

So here is a blog talk with me! Enjoy!

     Alright. I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT when people ask: Are you wearing makeup? HONESTLY I hate this question because either I AM wearing makeup or I'M NOT! And it irritates me because if I AM WEARING MAKEUP, why are you asking? Because if i am, it should look like i am! If i am, it makes me feel like i did my makeup wrong, like you can see streak lines, or my mascara is clumpy or giving me panda eyes! OR i could look like a TOTAL piece of crap with my makeup all over and two shades too dark and JUST SHITTY.

     BUT- IF I'M NOT WEARING MAKEUP! IT SHOULDN'T LOOK LIKE IT AT ALL! Seriously. I got asked this question a few weeks ago and i was wearing NO MAKEUP AT ALL. Okay, in this situation, when i'm not wearing makeup and you ask me this, either (a) My face looks really good naturally or (b) THERE IS SOME MISTAKE IN MY FACE (like discoloration or panda eyes) THAT MAKES YOU THINK I'M WEARING MAKEUP! And it looks messed up to you!

     I might seem angry right now- I sorta am, because I feel like if you've put in enough time and effort into makeup like me- you wouldn't even DARE to ask this question. And even if you haven't- whats wrong with saying "Hey your makeup is streaked, or running, or clumpy" Seriously.

Clean Up Your Nail Polish! Make them EASIER to Open!

You know what you can't get your fav bottle of nail polish open? This technique will stop that from happening! I really like doing this once in a while because it keeps everything clean and easy to open! Love, LIZ
